Halloween in Singapore: 10 Best Things to Do

Last Updated on February 5, 2026

Famous for being one of the most expensive cities in the world, Singapore is not the first place you’d think of for the best destinations for Halloween. It doesn’t offer the traditional, American spooky scene, but it is surprisingly outstanding and worth checking out. It fully embraces the celebration, uniquely blending international trends and local folklore, with activities for all age groups. From ghost tours to parties and dinner cruises, here are some of the best things to do during Halloween in Singapore.

A Brief History of Halloween Celebration in Singapore

Singapore started embracing Halloween in the 1990s, thanks to the increasing number of expats, who spread their traditions. Expat-dominated neighborhoods, like Holland Village, celebrated the holiday with various activities, including trick-or-treat, which attracted some locals.

Because of social media and the emergence of pop culture, the tradition gained rapid popularity in the 2010s. Many Halloween experiences and themed products became more available. In 2011, Universal Studios Singapore held its first Halloween Horror Nights, which has been an annual celebration ever since.

More attractions that offer immersive Halloween experiences, including Downtown East and SCAPE, were created later.

Today, Halloween has become a part of the locals’ culture. Now we know it wasn’t just another passing “Western craze.” The people have blended it with the local traditions, giving it a unique charm that you won’t find elsewhere.

A must-do is the Netflix TV series Stranger Things, where you’ll experience scenes from Season 2, 3. & 4, with a chance to experience the incredible locations from the show, including Hawkins Lab, Byers’ house, and Starcourt Mall. The attraction has been available from September 26 and will run until November 1.
